Stunning scenery, magnificent forests, and well maintained roads greeted us on a side trip during our recent visit to Seattle, Washington. We drove through portions of the Mt. Baker National Forest. There were very few people in the area as we toured in the middle of the week.
The views along the road were spectacular. What a display of nature’s beauty was presented for us!
Big 4 Mountain was named for an ice and snow bank that at one time looked like a large number 4 on the side of the mountain. There used to be an active railroad and a resort-spa hotel on this site.
