I recently posted that Garrett Customer service offered to send me battery compartment covers for our GTP 1350 metal detector. How surprised and pleased I was to receive a package in the mail within a few short days. 

My surprise was increased when I opened the package. Not only had Sue put in both the right and left battery covers (I only had lost one), but she also included the two AA battery holders as well.

My, what a treat to deal with a company that still provides old fashioned, prompt and courteous customer service. Garrett obviously knows that happy customers make for repeat customers. I am happy, and will be a Garrett repeat customer for a long time.

Our Garrett GTP 1350 complete with headphones was in the vehicle along with the digging trowel and an old sheath knife. The early evening weather was nearly perfect for metal detecting and treasure hunting.  Off we went to the site of an old country church.

I had been thinking of this site as a potential for metal detecting for some time. I remembered when the church, a small yet stoic brick structure stood by the highway, with its cemetery on the same lot. All that is left of the church now are the outlines of the rectangular shaped foundation and the old concrete steps that once led to the front door.
