I recently posted that Garrett Customer service offered to send me battery compartment covers for our GTP 1350 metal detector. How surprised and pleased I was to receive a package in the mail within a few short days.

My surprise was increased when I opened the package. Not only had Sue put in both the right and left battery covers (I only had lost one), but she also included the two AA battery holders as well.

My, what a treat to deal with a company that still provides old fashioned, prompt and courteous customer service. Garrett obviously knows that happy customers make for repeat customers. I am happy, and will be a Garrett repeat customer for a long time.

You can check out our GTP 1350 here at the Garrett website.

We have a Garrett GTP 1350 metal detector. Recently I somehow lost one of the two battery compartment covers on the detachable battery. I looked on the Garrett website for the parts section. The battery cover I needed was not listed, so I called the the toll free number.

Sue answered the phone. I shared with her my need for a right side battery cover for our GTP 1350. Without hesitation she said that she had a couple of covers on the shelf. She then offered to send them to me right away. Wow, when do you find that kind of customer service these days? Sue was most pleasant on the phone. I could tell she really wanted to help, and did.

Hats off to the Garrett Metal Detectors. What a great company. Not only do they manufacture the best detectors available, but their customer service is fantastic.

I suggest you visit the Garrett website or call them at 1-800-527-4011.

            Our GTP 1350 in use

Our Garrett GTP 1350 complete with headphones was in the vehicle along with the digging trowel and an old sheath knife. The early evening weather was nearly perfect for metal detecting and treasure hunting.  Off we went to the site of an old country church.

I had been thinking of this site as a potential for metal detecting for some time. I remembered when the church, a small yet stoic brick structure stood by the highway, with its cemetery on the same lot. All that is left of the church now are the outlines of the rectangular shaped foundation and the old concrete steps that once led to the front door.
